Snowflake's Support team is growing We seek Staff Partner Designated Support Engineer who excel in working with data and resolving diverse technical issues across various operating systems, database technologies, big data, data integration, connectors, and networking.


As a key member of our support team, you will leverage your expertise in the Snowflake Data Cloud to delight customers, address application design and integration gaps, and relay feedback to our product and engineering teams.

You will also help build team knowledge and drive strategic initiatives for organizational and process improvements. Experience in a 24x7 support environment and handling all tiers of technical issues is preferred.


As a Staff Partner Designated Support Engineer in our Support organization, you will work directly with application developers and our partners to solve complex development issues on the Snowflake Platform.

You will debug, troubleshoot, write code, and create samples alongside other engineers. Additionally, you will document solutions and collaborate with product groups to enhance Snowflake products.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify new opportunities to enhance the partner experience.
Document known solutions to both internal and external knowledge bases.

Act as a trusted technical advisor to partners, providing in-depth analysis and guidance to address complex problems through email, web, and phone communication.

Collaborate with account teams to establish regular touchpoints with strategic partners to provide technical and executive-level updates, including performance and health insights
Utilize Snowflake environment, connectors, 3rd-party partner software, and tools to investigate and reproduce complex issues.
Act as a stakeholder to Product, ML, and Engineering teams, influencing their roadmap and core platform capabilities based on partner feedback
Participate in incident management and on-call rotations.

OUR IDEAL STAFF PARTNER DESIGNATED SUPPORT ENGINEER WILL HAVE:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
7+ years of combined experience in Technical Support or Developer Support, Full Stack Application Development, Data Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Consulting

Solid understanding of cloud computing architecture, security best practices, major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and core data layers like data warehouses and data lakes.

Proficient in programming, scripting, and debugging in at least two languages, such as Java, Python, C++, R, Scala, C# (.NET), JavaScript ), Go, including hands-on experience with distributed data technologies (Spark, Kafka).

Strong experience writing, profiling, and debugging SQL queries, implementing and troubleshooting database connectivity (ODBC, JDBC), and working with REST APIs for data access and integration.

Advanced knowledge of cloud-based ETL/ELT tools (e.g., AWS Glue, EMR, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Data Pipelines) and experience with cloud provider messaging services such as AWS SQS/SNS, Azure queues, and GCP Pub/Sub.

Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting internet services/protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS/SSL, DNS), and system troubleshooting across multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac, *Nix) using common analysis tools (tcpdump, lsof, wireshark, netstat, sar, perfmon, process explorer).

Practical experience with virtualization solutions and container platforms such as VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and VirtualBox.


NICE TO HAVE:


Experience in developer advocacy or technical community roles, delivering a personalized support experience through a deep or specialized understanding of customer environments.

Operations and system administration expertise (including on-call rotations), with experience in performance engineering and security within technical environments.

Hands-on experience working with MPP (massively parallel processing) databases and familiarity with BI/data exploration tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Business Objects.

Familiarity with data science methodologies, practical exposure to Jupyter or similar notebooks, and background in AI/ML operations—including LLM fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

The estimated base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $160,600.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.


The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.

This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
