This means you'll be the trusted partner for our business development, product, and engineering teams as they forge new alliances. You'll tackle complex legal challenges, ensuring our deals are sound and creatively structured to support our ambitious goals. You’ll be:</b></p><ul><li><b>Managing Negotiations: From crafting partnerships with payment processors to launching new financial products, you'll be drafting, negotiating, and advising on agreements crucial to our global growth. Your ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously will be vital.</b></li><li><b>Navigating Regulations: You'll confidently navigate the ever-evolving landscape of payments and financial services regulations. You'll translate complex legal jargon into clear, actionable advice, enabling our teams to move quickly and effectively.</b></li><li><b>A Solutions-Oriented Partner: Business teams will rely on your practical, strategic counsel. You'll not only identify risks but also propose creative solutions that support responsible innovation. You'll contribute to building a more streamlined and efficient legal function.</b></li><li><b>A Collaborative Contributor: Collaboration is fundamental here. You'll work with diverse stakeholders across the company and around the world, from our Partnerships team to our engineering architects, all united by a common goal: building the future of commerce.</b></li></ul><p><b>What You'll Bring to the Team</b></p><ul><li><b>A J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.</b></li><li><b>8+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on and desire to lead commercial and strategic transactions in the payments or fintech sector, including experience with payment networks, card issuers, credit providers, acquirers/processors, fintechs, and financial institutions.</b></li><li><b>A demonstrated ability to handle negotiations and advise on the legal complexities of financial services products.</b></li><li><b>A solid technical understanding of the payments and financial ecosystem, especially as it relates to merchants and digital marketplaces.</b></li><li><b>Familiarity with acquirers, card networks, and their operating rules.</b></li><li><b>The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:</p>$174,400 - $232,800<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below: </p>$132,000 - $212,000<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
