Job Summary

Applicants with WA State billing experience highly desired. To be considered. 2-4 years of Medical Billing Service Experience required. Experience in WA State with CHARM, COLLABORATE MD, and SIMPLE PRACTICE a plus. Please include cover letter. We are a small medical billing company that specializes in Primary Care, Alternative Medicine, and Mental Health looking for an highly experienced lead Medical Biller. Must maintain own HIPAA compliant home office with reliable high speed internet.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identifies root causes of insurance denials, sends appeals to payors, and strives to minimize lost revenue.
  • Preparation and submission of all necessary documentation in order to obtain payment.
  • Responsible for any corrections of edits prior to transmission of electronic claims.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of billing account transactions to ensure accurate information according to established guidelines/procedures.
  • Responsible for communicating issues and inefficiencies encountered in daily processes.
  • Collaborates with providers, consumers and insurance representative to resolve outstanding obligations in a fair and timely manner.
  • Assists with Collecting patient liabilities that occur when patients are uninsured or have deductibles and coinsurance due. Assist patients with setting up payment plans.

Qualifications and Skills

We're looking for a candidate who has experience using a variety of medical billing software, (knowledge of CharmTracker is highly desired) who has a HIPAA compliant home office with high speed Wifi and an up-to-date desktop/laptop setup who is comfortable and effective working independently from home, has between 3-20 years medical billing experience, great communication and customer service skills, someone who can hit the ground running and does not need any training on how to navigate the complex world of medical billing (besides getting used to a new platform) and someone who understands both common and complex claim denials and how to quickly resolve them.
