T Palmer Agency is seeking an experienced and visionary Public Relations Director to lead our growing communications and media practice. This leadership role will oversee strategic PR direction across diverse client portfolios in fintech, insurtech, AI, and emerging technology sectors, driving end-to-end strategy and guiding a team of PR specialists.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee integrated PR strategies that elevate client visibility and credibility across key markets.
  • Serve as the strategic point of contact for executive clients — providing high-level counsel, positioning, and narrative direction.
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and partnerships to drive thought leadership and brand differentiation.
  • Build and sustain relationships with top-tier media, reporters, editors, and industry influencers across business, finance, and tech.
  • Secure consistent, high-impact placements and speaking opportunities that align with client and agency goals.
  • Guide executive teams through media engagement, press briefings, and reputation management.
  • Oversee the development of press releases, media pitches, op-eds, and contributed articles with precision and strategic alignment.
  • Shape thought leadership programs, including awards, panels, and events that reinforce client narratives.
  • Collaborate with social, digital, and creative teams to ensure a cohesive brand message across channels.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of PR professionals to deliver exceptional results and client satisfaction.
  • Establish best practices for campaign development, reporting, and media tracking.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence.

Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in public relations or communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership or agency role.
  • Proven success in developing and executing national and trade media strategies.
  • Strong media network with established press and analyst relationships.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Adept at managing multiple accounts, deadlines, and client communications simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, project management tools (Monday), and reporting platforms.
  • Must be located in either New York or Los Angeles, to meet for occasional in-person team meetings and our own events.
  • Experience working within finance, insurance, or technology sectors strongly preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
