Simply Smiles Family Dental is seeking a special person to join our administrative team in our small, locally-owned, family-oriented, general dental office. As an Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care and customer service to the patients that come into our office. You will also help coordinate the schedule and patient treatment plans of our skilled and caring team. Our purpose is to enhance the quality of people's lives through a whole person approach to excellent dental health.

You will be a first point of contact for our patient family. This involves a variety of responsibilities including answering phones and other forms of communication with patients, scheduling and verifying appointments, collecting payments, filing claims, managing calendars, helping patients with billing and benefits, and other administrative duties. You will be a key player in keeping our team and office running smoothly and on-time and will work closely with the Business Administrator in improving office systems and patient experience.

As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll work in an environment that encourages learning, team collaboration and puts patients first. For the right person, this position could provide opportunities for additional responsibilities and advancement in the practice.

Minimum Qualifications-

People Person: you like making patients feel comfortable, listen to their needs, educate them on their dental benefits and financial obligations, and can provide clear, understandable explanation of treatment plans and follow-up services when needed. And you’re pleasant to work with and demonstrate a professional personality and appearance.

Team player: you respect everyone’s role in making our busy office keep humming. And if you see someone that needs help, you’re likely to jump in and give a hand. You will have a part in creating an environment that is characterized by trust and openness, quality and professionalism, honesty and reliability.

Organizer: we like to keep our schedule on time and information at the ready. You know how to maintain efficient systems to keep things running smoothly.

Communicator: you should possess exceptional written and verbal skills (with patients, team members and over the phone), a working knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology, and can share your expertise with our patient family in a way that they can understand and apply.

Coachable: you enjoy learning and implementing new systems and are able to adapt to change for the greater good of the practice.

Dependable and Reliable: you need to come to work, be on time, and give your best.

Additional Desired Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:

  • Dental Office Experience (2+ years preferred)
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office products
  • Working knowledge of dental patient management systems
  • Proven competency with dental benefits, EOBs and patient accounting.
  • Prior clinical experience.
  • Innovative. We like people with ideas on making things better.
