Position Summary: The role of the Primary Care Physician is to provide medical services as established in the clinic care protocols. Participates and collaborates multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive integrated healthcare services. Demonstrates advanced application of primary care and pharmacologic knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and analysis. Provides medical perspective and expertise in treatment and problem solving, decision making, and activating clinic resources to achieve patient outcomes. Consults with staff as necessary to instruct them on clinical interventions necessary for achieving quality patient outcomes.

Our ideal candidate for our Primary Care Physician position will have completed an approved residency training program in family medicine and be certified or eligible for Board Certification in Family Medicine. Colorado licensed physician and current unrestricted DEA certificate required. Ideal candidate will have had at least three (3) years of professional clinic experience, including the participation in multidisciplinary teams in a primary care setting.

Salary: $200,012.80 - $212,014.40 annually and considers preferred experience and preferred education described below.

Physical demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Required Skills:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, other staff, physicians in the community, and the public.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in all aspects of current approved family medicine protocols and best practices.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with EMR and related systems that are central to modern patient health records. Electronic chart notes must accurately reflect the clinical interaction for the purposes of communication with other team members and providers, documenting performance measures, and accurate coding.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in an occasionally hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to follow established universal precautions and report potential exposure to a communicable disease immediately
  • Must be capable of independent judgment and action
  • Prescription and management of psychotropic medications.
  • Familiar with the diagnosis and treatment of co-morbid substance use/abuse disorders, including ASAM levels of care.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of an integrated health care model and clinic protocols that treat the “whole person”
  • Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax, and multi-line telephone.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ability to access the internet.
  • Ability to be helpful and sensitive to the needs of all employees, while concurrently respecting corporate policies, procedures, and priorities.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate job-related information to individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; plan own work schedule effectively and multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.

  • Must have current driver’s license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance, and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System’ insurance agency.

Additional eligibility requirements: Annual Flu immunization, Annual TB screening, CPI training within 90 days of hire, BLS PRO certification required within 90 days of hire.
