In this role, your primary focus would be to support the data science, artificial intelligence, and analytics efforts of external client projects across Barr's practices. When not supporting external projects, you will assist Barr's Information Systems team in advancing internal data and digital technology capabilities.<br>Barr works on thousands of client projects each year. The data-related needs of these projects vary significantly.This role is well-suited for a problem-solver who is passionate about data and wants to work in an environment with significant growth opportunities.The person selected for this position will be given the opportunity to learn and develop technological skills across various disciplines and help drive the future of our Digital Solutions team.<br>Responsibilities include:<br>Support the data science needs across an array of environmental, engineering, and scientific projects for our external clientsPerform exploratory data and statistical analysis and deploy models to production environmentsImplement AI-integrated workflowsBuild customized compliance and information systemsIdentify, design, and implement process improvements, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimize data delivery, and automate manual processesIntegrate systems and data sourcesDesign and implement complex data flows and pipelines to optimally extract, transform, and store dataWork in cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts and workflowsMinimum Qualifications:<br>Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, a related field, or equivalent work experienceExperience: Two years of relevant experience in data scienceExperience performing statistical analysis and producing report-ready data visualizationsExperience in business intelligence tools, such as PowerBI, Grafana, or TableauExperience with using REST APIsHigh proficiency in SQL and PythonFamiliarity with distributed computing platformsExperience building scripts and workflows for automation in production environmentsProficient in working with and transforming diverse data types, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured formatsExperience leading requirement-gathering efforts and translating business goals into executable tasksProficient with creating and managing code repositoriesStrong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, monitor, and follow through on work commitments and confirm priorities with stakeholdersAbility to work on complex data and systems-related tasks independentlyHigh level of commitment to delivering exceptional client serviceExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPossession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications:<br>One or more Microsoft Azure certificationsExperience with Azure DevOps, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, and DatabricksExperience developing in data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or related platformsExperience with Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, and Microsoft 365 integrationsKnowledge of data warehouse development processes and techniques, including dimensional modelingExperience working in industrial or public sectorsKnowledge of environmental data (e.g., air quality, water quality, geological, remote monitoring sensors) and/or environmental data systems (e.g., EQuIS, GIS, EMIS)A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barr's needs.<br>Compensation:<br>The anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 70,000-$95,000 per year. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
