Come join the newly formed Maintenance Components & Hydraulics team within RISM. As a data scientist you will provide valuable data analytics to a team of 170+ employees. This will enable the team to develop and execute our category strategies and deliver significant cost savings to Caterpillar.
What You Will Do: • Develop and maintain scorecard and reports by consolidating data from multiple sources. • Directing the data gathering, data mining, and data processing processes in huge volume; creating appropriate data models. • Exploring, promoting, and implementing semantic data capabilities through Natural Language Processing, text analysis and machine learning techniques. • Leading to define requirements and scope of data analyses; presenting and reporting possible business insights to management using data visualization technologies. • Conducting research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses. • Assist in Cost savings activities:
o Coordinate RBM/ABP process - work with peers to understand and develop latest tools
o Develop cost reporting framework to review monthly results
o Consolidate all cost savings activities to provide director and strategy manager with visibility and actions to accelerate
o Collaborate with Cost Management Team on governance and idea generation • Assist in maintaining category strategies and source matrices • Document procedures and new tools using standard work. • Lead change management in implementing procedures and tools.
Education Requirement:
A degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance

  • Developing expertise in Snowflake and data mining

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
• Prior experience in Procurement • Familiarity with monthly reporting processes, including ABP (Annual Business Plan) and RBM (Rolling Business Management) • Demonstrated expertise in cost savings initiatives

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $155,400.00
