<h1><span class="emphasis-3"><b><b><b>Job Description Summary</b></b></b></span></h1>The NDT Specialist is responsible for conducting or directing critical inspections and providing accurate and concise interpretation of results on gas or steam turbine generators utilizing manual or advanced NDT inspection systems. These inspections are carried out at fossil and nuclear power stations worldwide. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.</span></li><li><span>Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. </span></li><li><span>May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined <span><span>instructions/parameters.</span></span></span></li><li><span>A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.</span></li><li><span>Support activities as required such as proposal support, equipment maintenance, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, field training, and develop productivity improvements.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>Required Qualifications</b></u></p><ul><li><span>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 2 years of experience power industry)</span></li><li><span>Current or recent prior Level II or III certification in the following methods: UT, MT, ET & PT</span></li><li><span>Certifiable to ASNT TC-1A standards in the following methods: UT, MT, ET & PT</span></li><li><span>Possess a valid driver’s license</span></li><li><span>Possess or able to obtain a passport for international travel</span></li><li><span>Able to travel freely to and from the United States and perform work without restriction</span></li><li><span>Fluent in written and spoken English</span></li><li><span>Travel and work globally on short notice up to 80% of the time, and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays</span></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>Desired Characteristics</b></u></p><ul><li><span>Strong oral and written communication skills.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.</span></li><li><span>Work effectively with minimal direction and supervision</span></li><li><span>Experience using digital data acquisition systems and NDT analysis software tools</span></li><li><span>Power generation industry experience in the field of nondestructive testing</span></li><li><span>Experience in a customer service organization</span></li><li><span>Proficient in MS Office</span><br /> </li></ul><p><b>About Us</b></p><p></p><p><u>For U.S. based candidates only,</u><span> for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position </span><b>is </b><b>$72,400-$108,600</b><b> USD Annual.</b></p><p>The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
