This role focuses on storage migrations, <strong>ONTAP</strong> <strong>administration</strong>, and <strong>StorageGrid</strong> <strong>operations</strong>, working closely with the customer’s storage operations and engineering teams. The consultant will provide <strong>hands-on technical leadership, documentation,</strong> and <strong>process improvement</strong> to ensure seamless migration and ongoing storage optimization.<br><br><ul><li>Location: 100% remote (East region)</li><li>Duration: 12-month residency contract (likely to renew)<br><br></li></ul><strong>THESE ARE THE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A NETAPP STORAGE CONSULTANT:</strong> <br><br><ul><li>Work under the direction of the storage operations manager and leads to plan, execute, and support large-scale data migrations</li><li>Perform migration activities across multiple environments, including:</li><ul><li>3rd-party hardware to StorageGrid</li><li>StorageGrid to StorageGrid</li><li>Oracle ZFS to ONTAP (strong plus)</li></ul><li>Deploy and administer NetApp ONTAP, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning</li><li>Leverage DataDobi StorageMap (formerly DobiMigrate) for data migrations, including planning, execution, and cutover support</li><li>Provide engineering-level expertise in ONTAP and StorageGrid environments for performance optimization and feature validation</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, operations, and product management) to align technical solutions with business objectives</li><li>Support migration-related documentation, progress reporting, and issue resolution across multiple stakeholders</li><li>Review existing system configurations to identify opportunities for consolidation, optimization, and automation</li><li>Assist with disaster recovery planning, infrastructure design, and validation of ONTAP updates and feature enhancements</li><li>Develop scripts or workflows to simplify repetitive operational tasks</li><li>Ensure compliance with operational and security standards in a regulated industry environment<br></li></ul><strong>YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING ABOVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE LIKE:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Proven migration process experience across enterprise storage platforms</li><li>Deep expertise with NetApp ONTAP at both engineering and operations levels (SME-level proficiency)</li><li>Hands-on experience with StorageGrid and AWS migration scenarios</li><li>Proficiency with DataDobi StorageMap tools for planning and executing data migrations</li><li>Strong understanding of file and object storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, S3)</li><li>Proficient in NetApp storage technologies, including SnapMirror, FabricPool, Snapshots, deduplication, and cloning</li><li>Familiarity with Oracle ZFS, VAST, and Cloud Insights is a plus</li><li>Strong grasp of the infrastructure stack: compute, networking, and virtualization</li><li>Excellent communication skills for documentation, stakeholder updates, and cross-team collaboration</li><li>Experience working in a regulated industry and adhering to compliance-driven operational processes<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or higher certification</li><li>Experience using monitoring platforms, backup/disaster recovery tools, and WAN performance management</li><li>Scripting ability (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent) for workflow automation</li><li>Prior experience in a resident consultant or customer-facing technical role<br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Information About This Role<br><br></strong><ul><li>Pay grade: 31</li><li>View our benefits and pay grade information here: https://marketing.mytsp.net/tsp-benefits</li><li>Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States<br><br></li></ul><strong>WE ARE TSP<br><br></strong>TSP is award-winning, customer-endorsed, and minority-owned.
