If you are eager to lead maintenance initiatives and engineering efficiency, apply to join our team in Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME)!<br><br>This role will require 100% on-site attendance located within one of our Network Distribution Centers, and will not be a virtual - work from home position.<br><br>The Area Maintenance Manager will lead a team of facilities associates and ensure a safe working environment for all.<br><br>As an Area Maintenance Manager, you will have the opportunity to own your impact by leading a team of maintenance and cross-functional associates while promoting a safe and efficient working environment on-site at one of Amazon’s nationwide Fulfillment Centers. Ensuring smooth processes at your site will directly impact our Operations teams ability to deliver for our customers.<br><br>You will dive into standard work, innovation, and continuous building improvements. You will focus on process enhancements and creating operator based preventative maintenance initiatives, equipment performance and efficiency statistical analyses, and maintenance process mapping.<br><br>We Strive To Continuously Improve And Optimize Our Fulfillment Processes To Ensure Customer Satisfaction And Exceed Their Expectations. Here Are The Types Of Facilities In Each Mile Segment Of Fulfillment<br><br><ul><li> Fulfillment Centers (North America Customer Fulfillment - NACF Network)</li><li>Large facilities with many associates, that house goods, both big and small (first-mile). These are the types of building that typically come to mind when you hear fulfillment and may contain robotics technology or house the products available when you shop Amazon.com!</li><li> Sort Centers (North America Sort Center - NASC Network)</li><li>Medium-sized facilities, localized close to larger markets, where goods are sorted for delivery (middle-mile). These buildings receive packaged orders and help the last-mile network deliver products on-time more efficiently. Orders are sorted by zip code, region, and size. These buildings operate most similarly to a regional post office or large third-party logistics building.</li><li>Air Sites (Amazon Air Network), Amazon’s dedicated Air network serving middle mile, located near or within major airport hubs. These locations require additional security clearances and background checks, managed by the local port authorities.</li><li> Delivery Stations (Amazon Logistics - AMZL Network)</li><li>Smaller facilities with fewer associates, localized close to larger markets, where goods are delivered directly to customers (last mile). This is the last stop in the life of an order, where it is packed onto a delivery truck before heading out to the customer’s address.<br><br></li></ul>This role will start between April 2026 and September 2026.<br><br>Locations and Placement:<br><br>PLEASE NOTE: This role will require the flexibility to relocate, as we prioritize placing candidates based on business need. Candidates’ placement preferences will be considered, and recruiters will do their best to accommodate location placements. Relocation benefits will be offered for those who qualify.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br>Dedicated to supporting multi-site production by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric<br><br><ul><li> Support, mentor, and motivate direct report of Amazon Mechanical Technicians</li><li> Develop and design solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors, and be on call for emergencies</li><li> Handle multiple projects and daily activities, meet deadlines and develop plans on how to accomplish departmental and distribution goals</li><li> Ensuring that all safety programs and procedures are followed, develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with operations</li><li> Develop business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans</li><li> Help to develop, set and track budgets</li><li> Understand and implement safety programs</li><li> Successful candidates must have the ability to provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance, provide associates with written performance appraisals including discipline and up to termination</li><li> Mentor all facilities associates by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals and make a consistent effort to go above and beyond</li><li> Project planning and cost analysis</li><li> The Area Maintenance Manager promotes and conducts good housekeeping<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong>A bachelor’s or master’s degree with all requirements completed between May 2024 and August 2026. (You will need to have all degree requirements met before your first day).
