Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Critical Environment Technician to join our Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team. As a Basic Climate Expert (CET), you will be responsible for maintaining the foundational systems that keep our data centers running smoothly. Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware and Systems Operations: Manage complex tasks, serve as a subject matter expert in a significant area of operations, and demonstrate a deep understanding of data center systems and their interdependencies.
  • Equipment and Systems Maintenance: Perform various types of maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting, following established procedures and guidelines, and serve as a technical expert for one or more disciplines.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety and security requirements, respond to on-site incidents, and develop strategies for working techniques (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other experts to perform corrective actions, provide training and guidance to lower-level colleagues, and document issues and tasks for follow-up.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience in a field such as high-availability operations, manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), telemetry, control systems, and other platforms to monitor site status and analyze data.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in fields such as electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Data Center Operations: Previous experience working in a data center environment, with knowledge of data center systems and operations.
  • Programming Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
