About the Role: Entry Level Microsoft Cloud and Data Center Inventory and Asset Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Microsoft Cloud and Data Center Inventory and Asset Management Specialist to join our team. As a vital member of our Cloud and Data Center operations, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career, gain hands-on experience, and develop a deep understanding of inventory management principles, warranty process management, data bearing device destruction, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the destruction of data bearing devices (DBDs) and collect parts and components of decommissioned devices per procedure
  • Conduct cycle counts, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, and report inbound and outbound deliveries as directed by management
  • Initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment
  • Develop working knowledge of inventory control and inventory management practices and techniques
  • Perform process audits and data reconciliations to ensure all inventory controls are met
  • Accommodate inventory discrepancies and report inconsistencies
  • Ensure accurate physical inventory tracking and organization
  • Perform material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Willingness to work in a warehouse environment and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

  • Previous experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and systems
  • Experience with data bearing device destruction and warranty process management
  • Certifications in inventory management or a related field
