The Oracle Cloud Technology Pre-Sales Director will be responsible for understanding customer needs, designing tailored cloud solutions, and managing accounts throughout the sales process to drive growth in the Public Sector SLED Sales team.


Responsibilities

  • Understand Customer Needs: You will work closely with sales and clients to understand their requirements, business objectives, and pain points related to cloud technologies.
  • Solution Design and Development: Design and develop tailored cloud solutions that address specific client use cases and align with their business objectives.
  • Technical Proposal Creation: Create detailed technical proposals that clearly communicate the benefits and value of proposed cloud solutions.
  • Cloud Technology Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, including various platforms like Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, and IBM Cloud.
  • Proof of Concept (POC) and Demonstrations: Deliver POCs and product demonstrations to validate solutions and showcase their capabilities to clients.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with sales, technical, and other teams, as well as engaging with clients in presentations and discussions.
  • Stay Current: Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with AST Emerging Technologies practice leaders to share industry trends and client needs, develop & deliver compelling value propositions focusing around OCI-led business transformation.
  • Collaborate with AST sellers to expand with modernization services in AST SaaS accounts.
  • Manage accounts throughout the entire sales process, and collaborate with team members in Marketing, Pre-sales, and Delivery to uncover customer needs.
  • Travel to customer sites to identify and develop sales opportunities.
  • Participate in the development, presentation, and sales of the AST value proposition.
  • Give engaging customer presentations to all levels of leadership, including C-level.

Skills

  • 3-5 years of Cloud Technology Presales experience
  • A strong understanding of cloud computing principles, architectures, generative and agentic AI/ML, and various cloud services.
  • Experience in designing and architecting cloud-based solutions, considering scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with clients and presenting technical solutions.
  • Ability to understand and address customer needs and pain points.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and proposing effective solutions.
  • Understanding of specific industry verticals and their cloud adoption requirements.
  • Passionate about advances in enterprise technologies and intentional in delivering compelling solutions to enterprise customers.
  • Experience with non-Oracle technologies including, but not limited to: Integration – webMethods, Boomi, Jitterbit, MuleSoft, SnapLogic, Workflow automation– UiPath, Jira.
  • Able to work independently, take the initiative with minimal supervision, yet participate as a team member with a willingness to help where needed.
  • Dynamic communicator, with excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Hands-on experience creating and presenting engaging customer presentations to all levels of leadership, including C-level, organized, entrepreneurial, self-starter with applications sales experience, with a focus on building relationships, and executing vision.
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications on cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle, AWS, Azure) are preferred.
  • Prior work experience selling Oracle technologies is a big plus.
  • Exposure to advanced technologies/use case experience with AI/ML.
