The Boeing Company’s Specialized United States (US) Infrastructure Operations team is currently seeking a Mid-Level C-17 Remote Sites Versatile Technologist to join the team in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA .

This position will require the individual to support users at remote US Air Force locations and work with virtual teammates across multiple time zones. The selected candidate will perform a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities. This position requires the candidate to install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components while evaluating complex system’s production readiness and supportability. The candidate will be expected to perform the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations. Lastly, the selected candidate will gather computing requirements and confer on system needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with programs to ensure Information Technology (IT) infrastructure solutions meet the program requirements and schedules

  • Provide comprehensive end-to-end computing support from desktops to servers

  • Provide network (internal and external), telecommunications (cell, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Skype) and printing support

  • Provide broad range of systems and application support to include Active Directory (AD), Citrix, and Virtual Machine Ware (VMWare)

  • Prepare release planning for software and hardware across the system, including patch management

  • Monitor, evaluate and optimize systems performance

  • Evaluates complex system’s production readiness and supportability

  • Perform the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities

  • Maintain documentation

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2016 – 2019 and Desktop Operating Systems – Windows 10

  • 3 + years of experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting

  • Experience with maintaining/configuring AD to include applying domain group policies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience in Agile Methodologies

  • Experience with system backup and network switch configuration

  • Experience with PowerShell and scripts to automate deployment and integration of hardware and operating systems

  • Experience with VMware virtual network environment

  • Experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range: $87,550 – $118,450
