They are seeking a Network Development Engineer to build and manage services that model, provision, secure, scale, and operate OCI networks, while driving efficiencies in network design and operations.


Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a Network Development Engineer to build & manage services that comprehensively model, provision, secure, scale and operate OCI networks.
  • Network engineers will use the network automation to represent arbitrarily complex datacenter networks and subsequently build, interconnect and scale these networks.
  • Network Operations will be able to centrally administer OCI's networks and automate responses to common operational problems using the network automation API.
  • OCI service teams will be able to augment the rich data provided by the network automation to enable new scenarios.

Skills

  • US Government active Top Secret/ SCI security clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related engineer field 5+ years Network Engineer experience or Masters with 2+ years Network Engineer experience
  • Experience and interest to work in a network operations role
  • Extensive experience with scripting or automation and datacenter design – Python preferred, but must demonstrate expertise in a scripting or compiled language
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent judgment in influence for product roadmap direction, features, and priorities
  • Required to participate in an on call rotation
  • Experience troubleshooting and engineering networks that rely on common industry relevant protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, ZTP, VPN, and SSL the below protocols
  • Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Extensive experience with scripting or automation and datacenter design – Python preferred, but must demonstrate expertise in a scripting or compiled language
  • Experience working with UNIX and Linux operating systems, to include scripting and automation of tasks
  • Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
  • Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems
  • Experience with network configuration management
