This position typically follows a standard weekday schedule. However, occasional work on weekends or holidays may be required based on business needs. Such instances are infrequent.<br><br><strong>Location: </strong>Remote - U.S.-based applicants only.<br><br><strong>Clearance Level Required: </strong>Must be able to pass a Federal Background check.<br><br><strong>Hourly Rate: </strong>$18.50 plus benefits<br><br>In your role as a Legal Proofreader, you will perform diverse operational, project and administrative duties in support of the Court Report and Transcriptionist (CR&T) department.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>High school diploma</li><li>An understanding of legal terminology</li><li>A solid knowledge of English punctuation and spelling rules</li><li>Ability to sit for long periods of time</li><li>Ability to listen to audio and compare against written text</li><li>Ability to focus for long periods of time</li><li>Time management skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook</li><li>Familiar with formatting in Word - margins, indents, headers/footers</li><li>Familiar with PDF programs - conversion from Word to PDF, password protection, word list creation, line/page counting programs.</li><li>Familiar with working with Microsoft macros</li><li>Experience with audio editing software</li><li>Attention to detail.</li><li>Previous legal/transcriptionist experience is a plus.</li><li>Possess excellent analytical and writing skills.</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to ask questions for clarity and understanding.</li><li>Previous experience working in a remote office environment.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Job Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Review raw human-typed transcripts for accuracy, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to Jamison's client guidelines</li><li>Ensure consistency across all clients</li><li>Meeting or exceed client due dates</li><li>Provide ongoing comprehensive feedback to typists</li><li>Record feedback and document adherence by typists</li><li>Provide fact-based recommendations regarding amount and type of work assigned to typists and assist department manager with questions regarding typists' status</li><li>Answer questions from typists and other staff regarding current guidelines</li><li>Meet or exceed department metrics for quality and production<br><br></li></ul><strong>Jamison Corporate Overview:<br><br></strong>Jamison Professional Services, Inc.
