Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Payment Poster to join our team within the Physical Therapy Billing department. This is a vital role in our US medical billing process, responsible for posting payments, reconciling insurance remittance advice, and ensuring accurate billing for physical therapy services. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing and coding, specifically within the realm of physical therapy, and will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to support our billing cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post payments for insurance companies, patients, and other third-party payers accurately.

  • Review and reconcile insurance remittance advice (ERA) to ensure payment accuracy.

  • Work closely with the billing team to ensure all payment discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of claims for payment.

  • Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims or underpayments to ensure timely payment.

  • Handle inquiries from clients, insurance companies, and patients regarding payment issues.

  • Keep up-to-date with changes in insurance payment policies and billing codes.

  • Maintain accurate records of all payments posted and adjustments made.

  • Assist in monthly and quarterly billing reports and audits.

  • Collaborate with the physical therapy billing team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Contribute to team efforts in maintaining compliance with all federal and state billing regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associates or bachelors degree in healthcare administration, medical billing, or a related field is a plus.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably with a focus on physical therapy billing.

  • Strong understanding of insurance remittance advice, EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), and payment posting procedures.

  • Familiarity with major insurance carriers and their payment processes.

  • Experience with medical billing software and databases.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and external clients.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in payment posting and medical billing.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position with flexible working hours.

  • Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM (or as per business requirements).
